On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS), infas conducted the study “Old Age Security in Germany 2023” in cooperation with the Financial Research Institute at the University of Cologne (FiFo Köln). The final report and the associated tables are now available on the BMAS website.
The aim of this study was to create a representative picture of old-age provision for people aged 60 and over in Germany. To this end, infas conducted and analyzed a survey of people aged between 60 and 84, and FiFo Cologne used a model to update the data from previous surveys for very old people aged 85 and over. Approximately 16,000 people were surveyed on the basis of a residents’ registration office sample in 360 sample points.
Among other things, the results have been incorporated into the Federal Government’s Pension Report 2024, which can be viewed here.
