The Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) is the largest and oldest long-term study on social developments and living conditions in Germany.
Every year, over 32,000 people in 22,000 households are surveyed about their living situation and attitudes.
Scientists all over the world use the SOEP data.
infas has been commissioned to conduct the surveys since 2021.
This contract has now been extended until 2030.
This means that infas will continue to carry out the main studies and the numerous special surveys on current topics (e.g. corona, refugees) in the coming years. The SOEP is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the federal states under the umbrella of the Leibniz Association.
