In contrast to forms of employment such as temporary work, part-time work or marginal employment, the use of Werksverträge in the German economy was not systematically researched for a long time. This concerns both the usage patterns in qualitative terms and the quantitative scope. In order to close this information gap, this research project on Werksverträge was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. A quantitative sub-study collected representative data on the use of Werksverträge in Germany and evaluated them using econometric methods. The project was implemented in cooperation with the ZEW Center for European Economic Research and the NIW (Lower Saxony Institute for Economic Research).
