On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, infas conducted the study “Consumer Information in Apps – Empirics”. The results of the scientific study served as a decision-making basis for possible further political measures to improve consumer information in apps. In perspective, the aim was to investigate whether and what changes app providers have made to data protection information as part of the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as of May 2018 and whether this has eliminated any deficiencies identified in the study.
