The FReDA (Family Research and Demographic Analysis) panel collects long-term family demographic data for Germany, which is embedded in the European research landscape and combined with the data from the PAIRFAM relationship and family panel as part of theGenerations & Gender Program (GGP), which was founded in 2001.
The first three waves, in which people and their partners are surveyed nationwide, took place in 2021. infas has been commissioned to conduct the surveys. Based on a community sample, people between the ages of 18 and 49 are surveyed nationwide using the PAPI or CAWI methods.
A total of three waves will be conducted in 2021, with wave 1 serving to recruit the panel, which will be surveyed further in waves 2 and 3.
In wave 2, the partners of the target persons will also be interviewed.
In addition to German, the CAWI version of the interview is also offered in Turkish, Russian and Arabic.
The three surveys can be conducted both in writing (PAPI) and online (CAWI).
Around 34,000 people will be surveyed in the first survey.
For waves 2 and 3 in 2021, a sample size of around 20,000 interviews is targeted in each case.
