The IAB household panel deals with German households’ quality of life and social security against the background of the fundamental reforms within the social security systems over the last years.
The survey is conducted as methodological mix by computer-assisted telephone (CATI) and computer-assisted personal (CAPI) interview. Methodological switches are implemented in the ongoing field on household and individual level. The target population includes all private households in Germany and is based on two subsamples:1. communities of members of a household in need of unemployment benefit II drawn out of the IAB lists (BA sample) and 2. a general population sample. In order to monitor developments and changes over time, the study was designed as an annual tracking survey and dynamic panel. The interviews will be conducted in German, Arabic, and Turkish.
