Based on the American study “Management and Organizational PracticesSurvey” (U.S. Department of Commerce & U.S. Census Bureau), the survey “Management Practices and Economic Success in Germany” was conducted by infas in 2014/2015 as a written self-completion (paper or online questionnaire). The starting point of the study was the thesis that the targeted use of management practices increases employee motivation and can thus contribute to productivity increases and increased competitiveness. The management practices surveyed were aimed at the areas of monitoring and evaluation, personnel management, in particular incentive and motivation systems, and work-life balance. The study was designed as an in-house project and funded by the Leibniz Association, and implemented in cooperation with the IfW (Kiel Institute for the World Economy) and the IAB (Institute for Employment Research, Nuremberg).
